DarkStar called it a long time ago. Pontiac is done.
I was hoping that following the new Camaro would be a re-release of the Firebird. So much for that.

A few of the cars need to be “special model” Chevys.
Nope, they need to be as extinct as the Dodo. First law of free enterprise, no?
The absolute very first car I remember is my father’s white 1963 AMC Rambler Station Wagon. I loved that car. My parents bought it just before moving from Mobile to Los Angeles in the summer of my third year, 1963. My mother and baby brother flew, and my older brother, father, aunt and I made the three day drive across country. That folded down back seat area became my brothers and my rolling disneyland. ^o^ No seatbelt laws in those days.
He later owned an AMC Ambassador. And today, the Jeep series is the last remaining remnant of AMC, and even that is going away with the demise of chrysler.
If we were to apply the standard of what sells best, there’s no logic in shutting down Pontiac for Buick. The Pontiac division outsold every GM car division save Chevrolet.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Pontiacs. I’ve owned a ‘69 GTO, a ‘77 Grand Prix, and a ‘91 TransAm GTA. All were very, very memorable rides.
with pontiac going down, i’m not sure whether i wanna get that >2002 grand prix, which i have been strongly, strongly considering.
69 GTO? *hatehatehate*
