Still the best QB in the league, bar none. Now that he has actual receiving threats, we’re seein the incontrovertible evidence of that. I still maintain that with a full stable of stud receivers, Donovan could (could have?) put up staggering numbers too, but we can only deal with what is. And right now, New England IS the best team in the league, bar none. That matchup against the Colts is gonna be quite a tilt, but right now, with them fools faithfully droppin 30 points a game, I don’t know what else to say.

Well, the Eagles finally won again. If you divide the season into 4 quarters, the 1st quarter was miserable. The 2nd quarter will set their trajectory for the year. If they’re gonna recover at all, or even have a chance to recover, they’re gonna hafta make their move now.

  1. I agree Avery, the Pats are the best team in the league, by a wide margin. Randy Moss has really given Tom Brady a receiver worthy of his throwing ability, and Wes Welker is no slouch either.
Did you see that touchdown pass that Moss made which was ruled incomplete, just barely. Moss has the kind of body control that every receiver dreams of. When I first saw the play I thought there was no way he kept his foot inbounds, yet on the replay it was like 5 inches clear of the line.

Did you see the shot of Terrell Owens reacting to Moss’s catch being ruled incomplete, classic TO. I could just tell what he was saying to himself, “yup see, if it’d been me, I would’ve made that catch.” Yeah right Terrell, no one is as great as you, at least in your own mind.

New England didn’t just beat Dallas, they beat them soundly, with the efficiency of a well disciplined army. Dallas tried to respond, but they wound up pulling so many penalties trying, that they only sabotaged themselves further. 100 yards in penalties in one drive, I believe. I think the game against Buffalo last week put doubt in their minds, and it affected them this week. Though I don’t think any team in the league could have beaten New England today.

Here’s my prediction for their 2007 season, the Patriots will go undefeated, and walk away with Super Bowl rings.

Back to being bored with football again, now that I know the ending to the season. :-(

You be sure and remind me if I turn out to be wrong. :-)

  2. Receivers Moss, Owens take different routes to greatness

["They are two different styles," said Woodson. "You have to go back and look at history. Look at Moss and think about if they made a highlight reel of Moss, you would see deep ball, deep ball, deep ball, jump ball, deep ball, jump ball. That's scary. That's what he brings to the table, is that explosion play.]

[What Owens lacks in sure-handedness he makes up for in showmanship - the sprint to the Dallas star, the Sharpie celebration, and this past week's manifesto to the media in which he referred to Moss as "the other 81."]

[Woodson said that, if forced to choose, he'd rather cover T.O. than Moss.

"I really think Randy is harder because I think he has that other gear that even if he's running for a deep ball and you know he's covered and the ball is thrown, he has that gear to go get it," said Woodson. "When I see T.O. run, at times it seems like he's giving it all he has. Randy looks like he's holding back and when has to use his final gear he'll use it."]

  3. Moss makes me want to stick a finger down my throat, but I realize that is my sick little hang-up that I have to work through on my own. :D

I will lay that Chargers hourglass on it’s side for now. Old Norv has figured out how to manage Rivers. I kid you not, Rivers either handed it to LT, threw it to LT, or threw it to Gates. When he forgot to do it, UTEP’s own Howard Thomas ran it back for a TD. That was Rivers’ only mistake in 22 passes. He maybe threw 5 passes to other people, and Turner the Burner got a few carries.

They have found their offense and not a moment too soon. The defensive line is a best kept secret in the league, but their linebackers are middling, and the jury is still out on the secondary. But I expect them to go 12-4, 11-5 at the worst and win the AFC West.

Adrian Peterson is a bad man!
This is my third year going to a Chargers game, the first Charger-Raider game. I know there are serious rivalries in the NFL, and this is one of them. I have never seen a fight at a Charger game, but since I used to watch the Raiders in the Coliseum, the same cannot be said. Yesterday was no exception. Four fights. What they say about Raider fans is true.
