I’ve been meaning to write a series of posts on standards of beauty in our culture and the deleterious effects they can have on young girls. Grown women too, but I’m particularly concerned with girls who have started their secondary development but have not completed it, and wind up getting caught up in a whole lot of stuff they’re not ready for. Body image isn’t solely responsible, but I believe it plays a role.
Especially pernicious, I think, is the so-called beauty industry, which based on what it does should be called the ugly industry. That is, they sell products to make you beautiful because, of course, as you are you are NOT beautiful. The video below goes into the details. It don’t say too much, but what it shows should be of some concern.
