		<description>actually, right after i posted this, i came up on Street Love by Walter Dean Myers.  It's not an exact replication, but it's pretty good and has some of the same themes. i highly recommend it.</description>

Having the class view DiCaprio's (groan) R&#38;J actually might be a good thing...no, no, hear me out!  It retains the beauty of the language, but puts it squarely into a modern context.  It worked well for me, anyway. If you can handle DiCaprio...
