Well, after years of holding out and refusing to buy an ipod, I finally broke down and got one. Once I went through all those rounds of trouble with the iriver, I decided I didn’t really have any choice. It was just better to go with the industry leader so if I lose a part, I can easily get a replacement instead of having to hunt and wait and hunt and wait ust to get an integral component.  That’s pretty much it.Â
Of course now, I’m gonna be spending the next couple days and nights converting all these WMAs to itunes format. Can’t pretend that I’m looking forward to that at all.
We’ll see what happens, though. Maybe I’ll like it as much as everybody else seems to.

I look forward to your update on this. I’m pondering making the Ipod leap.
The slickness! Which model did you get? And, you can admit it now, it’s cooler than you thought it’d be.
use MP3 format. No need to ues AAC unless you are buying music from ITunes Music Store.
no doubt, use MP3 format. later if you decide to use another player, you wont have to re-encode your collection again.
I have an iRiver but I’ve been tossing around the idea of getting an iPod - mostly so I can cop singles via iTunes - theres not too many full length players worth my money anymore :/
I actually kinda liked the iRiver; especially the voice recording capacity. I just couldn’t find any accessories for it. Which wouldn’t have been a problem, except I lost the power/data cord. They didn’t have any on the iriver website, so that was pretty much a wrap.
